Having realized that no one could subscribe to our podcast on itunes with our former setup, we have moved the Sarathan Pod to:
http://web.mac.com/sarathan_records/
We also have a new feature that will allow you to see some rockin' photos of the artists while you listen.

The Sarathan Pod #004 - War Tapes Interview!
The moment you've all been waiting for.... The Sarathan Pod conducts its first interview!
We are very excited to have had the opportunity to interview War Tapes. War Tapes just began their tour with Tiger Army, and so far we're getting GREAT feedback. We recently got our high off the fact that the Bostonist posted their music video.
So listen in to our podcast for some insights into their music, and learn how to a survive as a rocker who performs at venues throughout the country (and not just in the shower).

The Sarathan Pod #003
At last, The Sarathan Pod has returned! Do I detect a widespread sigh of relief echoing from across the cyberwaves?
This week we're doing a feature podcast, focusing on a band called Feral Children. Right now we're going with the term "experimental rock" to describe their sound, but I don't think this abstract label quite captures the animalistic feeling I get when listening to their music. Really, I tend to think of myself as a relaxed, chipper person who has her act together, but when I listen to this music I feel it appealing to a darker side of me... a wild, unabashed, semi-abrasive side that never had a voice before this music came along. I seem like the most unlikely candidate, but I'm hooked now. I figure that's a good sign for this band.
Songs Featured on this podcast are:
1. Spy/Glass House
2. Jaundice Giraffe
3. Russian Fingers / Roman Hands

Excuses, Excuses...
Indeed, Sarathan is late in posting its third podcast. Fear not! We have not run out of steam!
To explain, an unfortunate situation arose when one of our artists needed to take our computer --the computer with the recording software-- on the road with them as they toured across the country. Imagine my dismay! Words cannot express the depth of sorrow and angst this tribulation has brought me! There is hope, however! -- The band shall be returning our equipment to us in a week, and we shall henceforth faithfully deliver the music you so deeply crave.
What? Want to point fingers of blame? Well, don't look at me. Visit our sarathan website and make a guess as to which touring artist stole our equipment! And while you're at it, you might as well check to see if they're touring near you. ;)

The Sarathan Pod, #001
Hi!
This is Kara, the resident "recording engineer" for The Sarathan Pod. In other words, once a week I get the pleasure of listening to the banter of our host, Julie O. What I can't get over is the fact that I get paid to do this! Wow. Life is good.
Anyway, we figure it's good to get it out in the open that we're just human here. This first podcast has its share of verbal flops and recording glitches. We didn't have a whole lot of time to polish this performance, but I suspect the humor value will more than make up for any perceived lack of professionalism.
I hope you discover an artist that really tickles your fancy! And I don't just say that because these are our artists. It's my hope that the music we play will help enrich your life in some way. Maybe it's naive of me, but I like to think there's more to this business than raking in money.
But hey, I really love my job and if you want to buy our artists' music and help keep this indie label alive, by all means, do so. *wink*
Today we are serving a fine selection of pop, jazz, and chill songs. If you're a lover of down-tempo music, this may be the podcast for you.
Featured Songs:
"Monkey," by Two Loons for Tea, from their album "Nine Lucid Dreams"
"Sorry," By Abra Moore, from her album "On The Way"
"Sunset Room," by Two Loons for Tea, from their album "Nine Lucid Dreams"
