Excuses, Excuses...

Indeed, Sarathan is late in posting its third podcast. Fear not! We have not run out of steam!

To explain, an unfortunate situation arose when one of our artists needed to take our computer --the computer with the recording software-- on the road with them as they toured across the country. Imagine my dismay! Words cannot express the depth of sorrow and angst this tribulation has brought me! There is hope, however! -- The band shall be returning our equipment to us in a week, and we shall henceforth faithfully deliver the music you so deeply crave.

What? Want to point fingers of blame? Well, don't look at me. Visit our sarathan website and make a guess as to which touring artist stole our equipment! And while you're at it, you might as well check to see if they're touring near you. ;)

The Sarathan Pod, #002

Hi Everyone!

A new feature was introduced this week - Joke of the Day! Listen in for some thigh-slappin' chortles & hollers, chuckles & snorts, hoots & squiggles... [Squiggles???] Oh, you get the idea.

Anyway, this podcast also features many flavors of music, grooving to some funk, punk rock, folk-pop, and semi-psychedelic intonations. See below for a complete list:

Airpushers: "Hold The Onions," from "Themes for the Ordinarily Strange"
The Purrs: "She's Gone," from the self-titled album "The Purrs"
Shane Bartell: "Harris Park," from the album "Too Soon to Say"
Chrisopher Blue: "These Thoughts" from the album "Room Tones"

As always, I hope you enjoy the listening. Feel free to direct a couple demos to your friendly local Kara at kara[at]sarathan[dot]com.

The Sarathan Pod, #001

Hi!

This is Kara, the resident "recording engineer" for The Sarathan Pod. In other words, once a week I get the pleasure of listening to the banter of our host, Julie O. What I can't get over is the fact that I get paid to do this! Wow. Life is good.

Anyway, we figure it's good to get it out in the open that we're just human here. This first podcast has its share of verbal flops and recording glitches. We didn't have a whole lot of time to polish this performance, but I suspect the humor value will more than make up for any perceived lack of professionalism.

I hope you discover an artist that really tickles your fancy! And I don't just say that because these are our artists. It's my hope that the music we play will help enrich your life in some way. Maybe it's naive of me, but I like to think there's more to this business than raking in money.

But hey, I really love my job and if you want to buy our artists' music and help keep this indie label alive, by all means, do so. *wink*

Today we are serving a fine selection of pop, jazz, and chill songs. If you're a lover of down-tempo music, this may be the podcast for you.

Featured Songs:

"Monkey," by Two Loons for Tea, from their album "Nine Lucid Dreams"
"Sorry," By Abra Moore, from her album "On The Way"
"Sunset Room," by Two Loons for Tea, from their album "Nine Lucid Dreams"
